Mack Trucks Announces Anthem Models To See Up Close At ATA MC&E Show
Mack Trucks is all set to show off its long-haul Anthem semitrucks at the American Trucking Association’s Management Conference and Exhibition (ATA MC&E) taking place October 14 to 17 in Austin, Texas.
The company will showcase two Mack Anthem variants including a diesel with a 70-inch (1,778-millimeter) sleeper unit and a 6x4 compressed natural gas (CNG) regional hauler used by shipping service UPS. Mack engineers the Anthem for fuel efficiency, driver comfort, and safety.
Aerodynamic Anthem Sleeper Cab
The Mack booth’s diesel Anthem sleeper truck has a full aerodynamic package, a FlowBelow rear chassis fairing, and a factory-installed IdleFree 5000 eAPU. Its Mack-built MP8-HE diesel engine generates 445 horsepower (332 kilowatts) and 1,860 pounds-foot (2,522 newton-meters) of torque. A Mack mDrive 12-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) puts all that power to the pavement.
A Cleaner-Burning CNG-Fueled Mack Anthem
The CNG edition of the Mack Anthem appearing at the show has a Cummins ISX12NZ natural gas engine that generates 400 HP (298 kW) and 1,450 lbf-ft (1,966 N-m) of torque. The truck’s transmission is a 12-speed Eaton Endurant automated manual unit.
Both Anthems are outfitted with a Mack Maxlite 40EZ air suspension rated at up to 40,000 pounds (18,144 kilograms), a Road Stability Advantage system, and a Mack PowerLeash engine brake. The trucks also include Mack GuardDog Connect remote monitoring and Mack Over The Air (OTA) remote programming solutions to deliver software and other updates to the truck automatically or when convenient.
